For the first time a Teachers Steel Band will perform at the Schools Steel Band Festival.

The first teachers steel band started at Springfield Primary and will be joined by Welford and Wickham Primary School teachers who have been working hard to learn Michael Jackson's 'Billie Jean' for the concert in March.

Seven primary school steel bands in Reading and West Berkshire will also join together to perform to a live audience at the second Schools Steel Band Festival.

We welcome Birch Copse and Geoffrey Field Steel Bands who will take part in the fun for the first time this year, plus Shefford and Chaddleworth will showcase younger children playing steel pan music.

CultureMix tutors have created an exclusive arrangement of Soul Limbo and Jamaica Farewell for the showcase event at St Gabriel's School in Newbury.
